According to the leaked official bulletin, Ford has chosen to transition like it did last year with buyers of the 2022 model year due to the great demand for the hybrid Maverick.
Unfortunately, this results in closed order books for the 2023 model.
Due to Ford's already-strained production capabilities, the changeover from one model year to another will take longer than usual.
The good news is that consumers who have already ordered Mavericks won't have to wait long because Ford has set order banks for the 2021 model year to begin in January 2021.
The hybrid Maverick is in such high demand, however, that new purchasers may have to wait more than
six months from the time they place their orders before they receive their vehicle.
Ford opened orders for the Mavericks for the 2023 model year back on September 15th
but because of a flood of eager new customers and longer than anticipated delivery timeframes, Ford authority has had to revise its estimates.
According to this post, clients who desire a Ford Maverick for the 2023 model year would have to wait more than six months for delivery
because the order books for the vehicle closed after just five days.
