Tesla's Full Self Driving (FSD) technology is revolutionizing the way people drive. Unfortunately,
its ability to navigate snow and icy winter roads is far from perfect.
With the sensors used in FSD technology not able to identify ice on the road and thick snow accumulation,
Tesla’s FSD can be more dangerous than useful when driving in a snowy winter.
Although Tesla drivers can turn off FSD while driving in inclement weather, they would lose the benefits of lane assistance,
traffic-aware cruise control, and other features that are only available with the FSD mode activated.
As of now, using FSD during a snowy winter is impractical due to potential safety risks that may arise from not being able to accurately interpret conditions of the road ahead.
